Tui Na is a fundamental part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and can be considered a branch of Chinese Medicine or TCM. The Tui Na practitioner focuses on clearing, releasing and dispersing blockages of Qi and Blood throughout the meridians (energy pathways or channels) by manipulating the soft tissues, skeletal structures and energetic centers. Tui Na helps the body re-establish a more harmonious internal balance.
Eastern Deep Tissue applies Tui Na principles to specific areas of the body that need to be released or cleared. The strokes are very slow and very deep, centering on the blocked meridians and specific muscles or muscle groups. This work can be very intense and is similar in nature to Structural Integration.
The Hara (abdomen) Massage comes from the Japanese tradition and is linked directly to promoting the rhythm of the digestion (peristalsis) as well as the functionality of all internal organs. The Hara is seen as the center of your being in many traditions and is referred to as the Jiao and Tan Tien. Stimulating the Hara activates the parasympathetic nervous system and can release emotional as well as physical blockages. The Hara Massage is effective in releasing abdominal discomfort caused by digestive tract problems as well as menstrual issues
The Hara Massage is done slowly and in concert with the breath and can get quite deep and cleansing.
Channel Clearing applies Tui Na principles to general areas of the body and is used to releasae and disperse blocked Qi as well as to prepare the body for deeper work. The Tui Na hand techniques oscillate the body and induce a rhythm that harmonizes the tissues and breaks up unhealthful patterns.
The Swedish/Circulatory massage is what most people think of when they hear the word ‘massage’. The practitioner uses long flowing strokes on the body with light to medium pressure, focusing on calming, sedating and releasing stress.
Lymphatic massage is similar to Swedish/Circulatory in that it uses long flowing strokes, but the pressure is very light and focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system. In some areas the pressure is so light that oils or lotions are not necessary.
Chakra Balancing is an energetic healing technique that harmonizes the energy centers of the body. The word Chakra comes from Sanskrit and translates into English as either ‘wheel’ or ‘vortex’. The practitioner feels the dissonance and works with the client to bring awareness and coherence between each Chakra and all 7 as a whole.
Trauma Release is an energetic healing technique that seeks out hot spots in the body and grounds them out, releasing areas of stagnant energies and helping the body to start flowing.
